Revisiting Interloper (2014)

Gabrielle Hoad  Interloper (2014)
Edition of 80 signed and numbered 12-page booklets,
laser printed on 100gsm paper 12.5cm x 9.5cm
Based on the horticultural practice of bud grafting, Interloper examines the perceived divide between natural and cultural, traditional and technological through images of strange conjunctions. In creating the booklet, the usual process of imposition, which rearranges spreads for printing and binding, has been bypassed. Instead the reader has to disassemble the pages (mentally or literally) in order to obtain complete images.

Interloper was originally made for a show at the Oxford Botanic Garden, England in March 2014, where the limited edition publication was shown alongside a large-scale vinyl banner.
